How to Submit a Project Port

This article will guide you through the process of submitting a project port request with VoIP Innovations in the Back Office.

To begin the submission process, you will need to be logged into our Back Office portal (found here).

Once in the Back Office you will want to follow the below steps:

  • Go to Porting > Initialize Project Port.

  • The first step is to agree to the Number Porting Policy as seen below:

  • Once you agree to this policy you will be taken to a page that will ask you some preliminary questions:

    • Contact Email Address- This will be the email that gets both the LOA and the pricing quotes

    • What type of number port is this? – This will indicate whether the port is for local or toll-free numbers.

  • You will see a box appear with Local Minutes of Use you will want to fill this out with your best estimate of the monthly minutes of use.

  • You will then be asked about the features that you need:

    • T38 – Faxing

    • CNAM Storage – Outbound Caller ID

  • The next question will be for the list of numbers you are porting. Please be aware that a project is only 50+ numbers. If you are submitting 49 or lower you will submit a standard port. (Directions can be found here for this.)

  • Once this has been filled out you will click Initialize project port.

You will receive the below message:

Once you finish this portion of the process the order will be sent over to our porting staff for review. They will review your list and respond back with a quote for pricing and which carriers can take the order. (You will receive this message via the contact email you provided). When the quote has been accepted the port can begin in earnest. At any time during this process you can find your project under Porting > Pending Projects. After the quote has been accepted a port id will be generated for your project and you will be asked to fill out the routing and end user information on a spreadsheet.

For each DID, you will need to specify an Endpoint Group ID number for routing information. This can be found under Endpoints > Endpoint Group Management.

When you have the sheet filled out you will need to go back into your pending project and fill out the below section and add the spreadsheet:

After you click Update details and you will either receive an error or a port will be created and you will be prompted to sign an LOA via a link on screen.
