Initial Account Setup

In this article we will discuss how to fill out the initial account setup form. It will look like the screenshot below:

For the contact information fields, feel free to enter the names, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses of the necessary personnel within your company. They can all be the same contact, or you can enter a different contact for each section.

For the Trouble Ticket contact, please refrain from entering an e-mail address that is tied to an auto-response system, as this can create an e-mail looping issue.



Initial Endpoint Group

For this section, you will need to specify some settings about your first endpoint group. This is basically a SIP trunk that allows you to make and receive calls.
Group Name: This can be whatever you want – it's simply a friendly name to help you identify the group.
Port: This is most commonly 5060, but you can specify whichever SIP port you like to receive calls.
Strip Plus: If set to "On", we will not send you the plus sign “+” at the beginning of your inbound calls.
Strip Country Code: If set to "On", we will not send you the country code (1 for domestic) on inbound calls.
Prepend: This is an optional field. You may enter a string of 1 to 6 digits. If you do, we will insert those digits to the beginning of the phone number for inbound calls. Leave it blank if you don't need this.
Endpoint IP: This is the public IP address of your PBX/VoIP server. Please note that this MUST be a unique static IP address, as we do not accept hostnames. This will allow you to send and receive SIP traffic from this IP. If you do not yet have a static IP address, you can temporarily enter the current IP address that you are using on your PC/device. After you complete this form, you can add/remove endpoint IP addresses as you see fit.


Authorization Code

The authorization code is required when calling our Support team. It is a layer of security to protect your account. You can specify your own code, or auto-generate one. This can be changed at any time by going to Home > Password & Security.

When finished, click "Save Settings" to fully create your new VoIP Innovations account. You're done!
