LRN Lookup Tool

For conversational traffic utilizing the Standard, Enterprise, Premium, T38, or Customizable termination rate decks, VoIP Innovations will bill outbound calls based off the LRN (Local Routing Number) of the telephone number that is called. For short duration traffic using the Dialer termination rate deck, VoIP Innovations bills calls off the destination number itself (DNIS).
The LRN is simply used to identify which switch a telephone number is associated with. Local Routing Number was introduced to facilitate Local Number Portability (LNP) in that the routing of telephone numbers did not need radically changed when numbers moved between wireline and wireless services. Previously, the NPA-NXX of a telephone number was used to identify the state and rate center where the number was originally assigned, as well as the service provider and carrier type (wireless or wireline). The LRN was introduced to serve as the network address of the telephone switch which services the number. The LRN therefore replaces the need to identify rate center, state, service provider, and carrier type and only identifies the switch the number is associated with. If a number has never been ported, it will not have an LRN but will route based on the NPA-NXX of the number. Numbers that have been ported and consequently have an LRN, route based off the NPA-NXX of the LRN.
