Hosted Billing SMS/MMS
At VoIP Innovations, innovating and improving our products is always an important aspect of our business (it's right there in the name!) With our expanded SMS capabilities also comes improved functionality to our Hosted Billing system in the form of SMS billing.
Setting Default SMS/MMS Fees
The SMS Billing Configuration page is found under Tools > SMS Billing Config in the Hosted Billing Portal. To adjust MMS, this is under Tools > MMS Billing Config.
The SMS Billing Configuration page will allow you to set default incoming and outgoing per message fees for all your DIDs. Simply enter the desired price in the incoming and outgoing fields and then select your desired General Ledger accounts before hitting the save button at the bottom of the page.
After this, you're done! Whenever a SMS/MMS message polls into hosted billing for any of your DIDs, it will be rated at the price that you configured on this page.
Configuring SMS Fees on the DID Level
You also can set SMS pricing for individual DIDs. If done this way, the pricing set for the DID will take precedence over the default fee that was established on the SMS Billing Configuration page. To add a DID with its own SMS pricing, navigate to your customer's Services page and click 'Add Off-Network DID'.
On the Add DID page, fill out the DID, Package, and Activate Date fields as you normally would, and then click the 'Enable SMS Billing' checkbox.
After checking this box, you will see three more fields populate the page. The Monthly Recurring Charge field allows you to add an additional monthly fee for SMS services, while the Incoming and Outgoing fields allow you to set the per-message fee for your DID.
Configuring SMS For a Pre-Existing DID
You can configure individual SMS pricing for a pre-existing DID as well. To do so, navigate to Tools > DIDs > Management.
Once you've reached the DID Management page, click the edit button next to the DID you want
to add SMS billing to.
On the DID Edit page, click the 'Enable SMS Billing' or 'Enable MMS Billing' checkbox to bring up the SMS fields.
