Fusion PBX Trunk Configuration

The following information has been provided by a VoIP Innovations' customer using a Fusion PBX. VI is posting this article to assist you if you are using this type of PBX but has no experience with its trunk settings or configuration settings. This is simply what someone else has provided it has worked for them. Please note several things if you are using this information.

  • The trunk configuration calls for a Username/Password. Since VI authenticates based on IP address only, a UN/PW is not required and if you are attempting to register, you will not receive a response from our server. You can enter dummy information in these fields since it is not required by VI.

  • Since you do not need to register, we recommend setting the highest number possible under the 'Retry Seconds' section of the trunk. Keep in mind that sending a flood of unnecessary packets could be viewed as a DDOS attack by VI switches and result in your IP address being blacklisted. Avoid sending registration packets since they are not necessary.

  • The following screen shot has the proxy IP address set as 64.136.174.30; keep in mind this would be for outbound traffic. You may need to set up a separate trunk for inbound calling. While we currently advise customers to enter all our IP addresses 64.136.173.31 is currently the one routing inbound traffic to customers. Our IPs in use are as follows:

  • 64.136.173.31 is used for inbound (to customer) origination traffic

  • 64.136.174.30 is used for outbound (from customer) conversational termination traffic and back up inbound (to customer) origination traffic

  • 64.136.174.35 is used for outbound (from customer) dialer (short duration) termination traffic only

The following screen shot is exactly as we received it from our customer but we have added our comments in red. You may need to adjust these settings on your PBX to find the optimal settings that work best for you.
