Please also note that there is typically a 10-15-minute propagation period from when you click the update button before the change will take effect.
One thing to remember when terminating calls to VI is that we look for the lowest Endpoint Group number for the call. This means that if you have the same IP address in more than one group, we look for the lowest group number and that is the group the call comes from. For example, if you had group 10013 and group 10016 you would need to set the radio button for group 10013 to use international. There is an Advanced Server Configuration option for two groups with the same IP so be sure and check out that article if it applies to you.
Another option we have for multiple endpoint groups, that share the same IP, would be our Tech Prefix feature. This allows you to all a prepend in front of calls so our system will terminate calls from that group. Please see our Wiki Article for more information.
To place an outbound international call, you will need to prepend "011" to your calls when sending them to VoIP Innovations. The full syntax should look like this: 011 + country code + international telephone number (for example, 011441462490068).
When calling out to International destinations, please ensure the source number you are passing is in full E.164 format. E.164 numbers are formatted as a plus sign (+), followed by a country code, and then a subscriber number that includes the area code.
Note: Country Code (1) destinations do not require the 011 prepend to complete, but you will still need to enable international termination on your endpoint group(s) in order to call these countries. Below is a list of country code 1 destinations that are still considered international calls:
Country | NPA |
---|---|
Bahamas | 242 |
Barbados | 246 |
Anguilla | 264 |
Antigua and Barbuda | 268 |

VoIP Innovations has a 240-minute / 4-hour call limit per international call, so any call will automatically disconnect after this time. This is a global setting and cannot be changed.
